Why is it that I never get around to doing this? Or even if not blogging, I need to keep some sort of "diary", just for my own sake. I think Memiary is super neat, but I'm no better at that than I am at this.
Whatever. Anyway.
The weekend after Vermont, we went to Montreal. I really liked the B&B we stayed in, but I was a bit underwhelmed by Montreal itself. I can't point to anything in particular that I didn't like (except maybe the copious flying insects, and the hot and humid weather we were graced with), but I just thought I was going to like it more than I did. I doubt I'll ever feel any particular urge to go back.
When the in-laws left after their three-week stay, it felt SO good to have the house to ourselves again. To be able to speak freely, watch TV, be naked, etc. ― ah, sweet relief!
Still, even though they drive me fucking batty sometimes (especially when they're visiting ― although to be fair, three weeks is too long for any house-guest), they are undeniably good to us in certain regards. For example, for The Husband's 30th birthday in November, they are paying for 3 nights' hotel stay in Washington D.C. (frequent flyer miles will get us there and back for free), and they are flying us back to London for Christmas this year. Hence, I'm eager for the holiday season... is summer over yet?
Speaking of summer, it is seriously too fucking hot this year. Who left the oven on?

Blogging is harder than it looks.
Woo, lack of houseguests!
